My Other Self

Still lives at the beach, but in this…

and this would be my "other" front yard…

I would get around the beach on this…

For traveling, my other self would still own my Scion,

but I would paint the passenger doors like this…

so it would match the custom vintage trailer my other self would have…

built for many road trips to go and visit with you!

My other self would have this camera…

for taking lots of photos and videos to share with you of my travels.

My other self would live six months in California and six months in Florida…

My "other" wardrobe would look like this…

(after I loose a "few" pounds that is)

and in the bottom of my "other" closet you would find this…

Of course, I would only bring them out on those days when I absolutely have to wear shoes.
Otherwise, this is the only thing you'd see on my "other" feet…

Just down the beach you'd find these…

so that all of you could visit whenever your heart desires!

While you're here we'd find lots to do, but most of all I'd say…

Of course, my other self would have the appropriate attire for all of you to wear…

This would be my "other" kitchen…

I would prepare dishes like this for all of you…

and this one would be especially for my seasister Louie @ Mountain Mermaid

because she sent me the recipe last week!

For my vegetarian friends, or those allergic to shellfish, I would make this…

Pineapple Fried Rice

Everything would be made with locally grown, organic produce

and all the seafood would only be purchased from sustainable fisheries, of course!

My other self would serve you drinks like this…

with or without alcohol :)

while you sit at my tiki bar watching the sunset…

My other self will also have one of those life-size cutouts for photos

like this one of me and Brad Pitt…

Sorry Angelina, I promise I'll send him back soon.

Oh, we'll have lots of fun in my "other" life and remember…

My other self will still have to work, of course, so I'll still be doing this…

and I'll still be making these…

BUT best of all, my other self,

would live in a world

where our oceans are healthy and clean…

Now what about all of you?

What would YOUR other self look like?

Update: Thank you for all of your well wishes, my chest cold is just about gone and I'm now able to hobble around with the use of a cane. My foot is still a bit swollen and is lovely shades of black & blue, but my office chair/makeshift wheelchair is back where it belongs. I still have to keep it elevated most of the day, but I'm getting on the computer throughout the day and trying to catch up with all of you! Hugs!

Rhonda, you NAILED my own personal other self, except for the car - mine would be a 1969 camaro convertible in blue. At any rate, I'd come party with you whether it's you OR your other self. You would be fun either way! Glad to hear you're on the mend. Hugs!

Can my "this" self be friends with your "other" self? I'd sure like to come visit in those colorful little cabins. And I'd love to wear one of those flowered outfits with just the right pair of those flip flops...please! While I'm there I'd love to ride your pink bike and even spend a night or two in that adorable trailer...I've been wanting one of those! I have a hard enough time dealing with the SELF I'm stuck with...don't know what I'd do with another one!

Forgot something....(as usual). Although your "other" self sounds beyond FABULOUS, I think your present self is wonderful, too!

Maybe you can decorate your cane up like your "other" self did that little camper and car and chair!1 Loved that!! You always make me smile. :)

Shellona. That's your warrior name. I was lucky enough to read your comment before Blogger feast on it.

I must agree with Cheri. Your present self is most fabulous. You are so genuine and you make others feel "listened to."

I hope you have a lovely rest of the week.

One of these days....you and me...sittin at a tiki hut with one of those, yes, alcohol filled, umbrella drinks talkin about our hump-island men!!! hahahahahaha!

I always say I'm just gonna hit a few of my faves this morning to see what they're up to....and then I go thru your blogroll and I've sat here for hours....aaaccckkkk. Rhonda...what an adorable post...it made me smile through the entire thing. You always have a way of posting something that makes one think...but....you made me think of California, and how I miss it! But that is a good thing, makes me more motivated to plan our trip. Thank you for being such a sweet and wonderful person. Have a great upcoming weekend.

I'm hitting the beaches early on Saturday before sunrise...hope there are some nice shells.

OMG! I love this post. I wanna play too! OOps! I mean I wanna dream a bit some too...I'm gonna do one of these very soon! LOVE IT! I would be best of friends with your other self....hahha! The camper is just too cute! Your little tiki hut is so cute, I would take the purple one, though it's a bit too close to all the other. haha! I am glad to hear things are looking better for you with the foot, though I am sure it still looks bad. My husband broke his foot a few years ago stepping up on the docks and it was terrible. It sounds like you are doing all the right things..wishing you a speedy recovery! Thanks for such an enjoyable and inspiring post!

This post is a blast..I want to be your other self too!! I love this adorable little house on the beach I could happily live there forever and ever. You are right though...the best would be a healthy clean ocean!! Maybe someday..I hope. Now as for Brad..Have I ever mentioned my obsession/crush/ on Mr. Pitt.??? I am so into that gorgeous man..even Mr. Bunny just shakes his head. I think he is just the most gorgeous creation to roam this planet. But we can share him tee hee...I told my friend the other day I think I can steal him away from Angelina LOL..I said she may be beautiful but I'm fun and make one hell of a strain cocktail. Oh well a girl can dream.

Oh Shellebelle Sweetie...
Knock knock. Knock knock. I'm here. I only brought my swimsuit, sunblock, flip flops and a beach bag. Oh and of course my hat. I can't wait to hit the beach with you. Oh what fun we would have. Gathering shells day to day, and cooking out at night.

Love that little trailer. It is my hearts desire to have one for camping. Just big enough to sleep in, and pull where ever I might want to go.

Oh what delightful hostess you are. Love the look of that dinner, and even a grass skirt or two for dancing. Oh wouldn't that be fun. And you asked Angelina to loan us Brad for the weekend? Wow, we are uptown all the way.

One day I hope to stroll those beaches with you. What fun that would be, but for now my sweet one, thank you for taking me along. I absolutely loved my visit today. I am all tan for my desk audit on Monday. Keep me in your prayers sweet one. Many hugs and so much love, Sherry

Your Other Self has great taste Rhonda! ;o)

I love the beach and everything that goes with it! I love the waves lapping at my feet. I love the feel of the sand between my toes. I love the roar of the Pacific and the gentle waves of the Gulf of Mexico in Florida. Let's talk about beaches around the world, bonfires, building sandcastles, swaying palm trees, flamingos, clambakes, sunrises and sunsets. If it's tropical, it fits this blog!
