When Cocktails Become Dessert

As many of you know, in the last couple of month's CSN Stores has sponsored two giveaways here at The Hut, so I was thrilled when they contacted me again and ask me to do a review of one of their products. I saw so many wonderful goodies while I was searching for giveaway items and have been to many of their online stores. They have over 200 and choosing my favorite is an impossible task. Recently I was looking at their dining room tables and spotted these two bistro sets:

I love them both, but of course, the Bamboo Set fits my lifestyle perfectly. While thinking about how perfect it would be on my back porch, I envisioned having you over and serving Key Lime Pie Martinis as we chatted about our blogs. You haven't heard of these? Oh my dears, they are like dessert in a glass!

Key Lime Pie Martinis

Ingredients:

  • Graham cracker crumbs, for rimming the glasses
  • 2 lime wedges
  • 6 tablespoons (3 ounces) vanilla flavored vodka
  • 1/4 cup (2 ounces) key lime liqueur (recommended: KeKe Beach Key Lime Liqueur)
  • 2 tablespoons pineapple juice
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • Ice cubes

Directions:

  1. Pour the graham cracker crumbs in a shallow dish. Rub a lime wedge around the edge of a martini glass and roll the edge in the graham cracker crumbs. Chill the glass for 30 minutes or until ready to serve.
  2. Combine the vanilla vodka, key lime liqueur, pineapple juice, and cream in a shaker. Fill the shaker half full with ice and shake until well blended.
  3. Pour into prepared martini glasses, garnish with a lime wedge and serve immediately.

Now don't these sound yummy? And look at these stemless martini glasses you can find at CSN Stores:

These glasses are so cool and will keep our dessert martinis nice and chilled on a hot summer night.

Try these out on your guests and stay tuned for my upcoming review from CSN Stores!

Mmmmmmmmm, yummy. 'Tini envy going on up here in Iowa...LOVE those cool stemless glasses. You rest them in bowls of ice when you're not sipping? What'll they think of next?

What more could we ask for, a nice setting with a delicious cocktail. Well I guess we could ask for another round of drinks.

I love key lime and wish I had those ingredients in my house today so that I could make some of those for my house guests this weekend. Yes we are getting those afternoon storms but thankfully yesterday we only had some thunder and it was breezy last night which gave us some relief from the humidity. Stay cool.

Hello Rhonda,

They sound delicious! My youngest son loves key lime pie and I bet he would love this drink. Maybe I will make a non-alcoholic version of it for him this weekend.

Thank you for sharing the recipes!

The only martini I've ever had was a Key Lime Martini, in a restaurant. It wasn't very sweet and was so strong that I wasn't very excited about it. Your recipe looks so much better. We'd need one of these to go with the food from the Fish Camp! Thanks for all the great comments...and for being such a wonderful friend.

Good Morning Shellbelle,
First, the table sets and chairs are just so great, I love them both and can see you sitting there sipping this Cocktail. The stemless martini glasses are so elegant, I would feel like inviting my favorite singer, Frank Sinatra and his gang over for a martini...ahhh if only that were possible!! I am going to make this Key lime Pie Martini, I think it is quite possibly the most divine cocktail I have ever heard of!!
Oliver is standing next to me as I type this and he sends you a big hug and kiss

Girl, you have probably just increased my waistline a few inches. I have definitely got to find all those ingredients and try these soon! I do love a good margurita! I have tried winning several CSN giveaways but haven't lucked out yet. I only recently heard about CSN...believe it or not. However, when I got to the site I get overwhelmed at all there is to offer! Hope you have a great weekend.

I love what you did with your "real" front porch. The rita looks so yummy. I'm going to try to come up with a non-alcoholic version. Is this what happens when you cross a Georgia peach & a Florida Cracker? heehee.

The artist that did my print specializes in ghost impressions art. If you look closely you can see images of what may have been in the scenes from previous times. I have several of her prints and will have to do a post on them someday. They are fabulous. Her name is Madeline Carol and is out of charleston. You should check out all of her stuff. It's great!

Oh WOW. I just got chills when I read your comment. How neat. And what a small world. That's an incredible story and one that I think I might need to blog about in the future if it was okay with you and Cheri. You both seem like such wonderful people and I'm so happy I could play a little role creating a new friendship for you both. Perhaps one day I can get down your way. I would love to visit and meet you.

I love the beach and everything that goes with it! I love the waves lapping at my feet. I love the feel of the sand between my toes. I love the roar of the Pacific and the gentle waves of the Gulf of Mexico in Florida. Let's talk about beaches around the world, bonfires, building sandcastles, swaying palm trees, flamingos, clambakes, sunrises and sunsets. If it's tropical, it fits this blog!
