Thank You Jimmy Buffett!

From the free concert Jimmy Buffett did in Gulf Shores, Alabama last Sunday night:

When The Coast Is Clear
(rewritten for the occasion)

I'd like to thank D.J. @ Barrier Island Girl for posting the link to this on her blog. She is a real beach lover who regularly does sea turtle patrols on the Gulf Coast. She's now working as a Wildlife Observer during the oil spill clean-up and if you want to see what's going on in Pensacola, firsthand, stop by her blog. She is sharing amazing photos and stories of these troubling times.

I also want to thank Linda @ Coastal Charm for first making me aware of this concert and blogging about it. Linda lives right there on the Alabama Coast.

My heart goes out to The Gulf and everyone and everything affected by this disaster and whether you realize yet or not, that includes you!

Yea Jimmy! Love the song, Rhonda!

He's not kidding when he says the Gulf is in his blood because he was born in Pascagoula and is a beach boy through and through.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm going over to check your links.

XO,

Sheila :-)

Thanks so much for sharing this Rhonda. It brought tears to my eyes. And you are exactly right, this does affect everyone, whether they realize it or not. I'm going to check the links now. Hugs, Kat

It's inconceivable to me that the spill was allowed to happen in the first place. All of us, not just along the coast, but all of us will be affected for a long, long time.
Peace to you,
Julia~

It was soooo AWESOME...I was there!!!! My husband and I got tickets at 3:00 and were able to get a great location to watch Jimmy do his thing! This was just what our area needed and I sure hope this new cap works:) Thanks for posting about me and the link to my blog. I was going to post about the concert for my Nifty Thrifty Tuesdays party...come by and you will see why it's on hold for now. I will be posting soon, so be sure to check it out.

Blessings,
Linda

The video gave me goosebumps. Having never seen Jimmy Buffet, I am a certified fan. Hope this opens up more awareness. We up North are always thinking what a horrific disaster this is.

I know that Jimmy Buffet is making his way around the Gulf bringing awareness to people. I just hope they get this thing taken care of this week like they are reporting may happen. Such a CRIME and we will all be left feeling the scares of this for generations to come. Humid and humid is the weather report from my island today. How about your area of GA today?

When life gives you lemons, turn on Buffet, the self-proclaimed escape artist. He escapes life and teaches you how to do it too.

I love the beach and everything that goes with it! I love the waves lapping at my feet. I love the feel of the sand between my toes. I love the roar of the Pacific and the gentle waves of the Gulf of Mexico in Florida. Let's talk about beaches around the world, bonfires, building sandcastles, swaying palm trees, flamingos, clambakes, sunrises and sunsets. If it's tropical, it fits this blog!
