complaining whining about the cold weather in Florida lately and I'm happy to report that although we still aren't back to our typically warm weather, at least I haven't suffered from frostbite lately. We turned off the heater over the weekend, I spent Saturday with my daughter and granddaughter roaming around the flea market in jeans and a t-shirt, the plants I brought inside are now outside again, I was able to take the four extra blankets off my bed and the windows are open during the day. Life is returning to normal, or at least somewhat normal around The Hut.
To celebrate this return I thought I would share a part of my collection of vintage Florida postcards — The Greetings From series. Most of these are from the Library of Congress, the Florida State Archives, friends, family and some I've found at garage sales, flea markets, and local stores that have shoeboxes full of this stuff. I love going to Dunedin and looking through the little shops there to see what I can find. If I spot something from Florida, California, or Hawaii, it usually finds its way to my home. I even have some from Hawaii that my friend Karen found in the trash at an estate sale. They are very cool, I'll have to share those with you one day.
So here you go, more Florida postcards than you'll ever need! If you've ever been to any of the place-specific ones let me know in your comment. If you've ever been to Florida and your in the dead of winter and wish you were here, let me know that also.
Greetings From the Land of Sunshine
And don't forget,
I invite you to…
I hope you're enjoying the weather wherever you are, as for this old beach gal, I'm happy to see the sun shining again!
