Can I Live in a LIfeguard Station?

Well, here we are at another Outdoor Wednesday and this week I didn't know what I should post. After the recent freezing temperatures we've had here in Florida, outside hasn't been very pretty around The Hut.

We went from this…

to this…

and this              to this…

Not exactly fun photos to post are they? With this in mind, I decided instead to share a part of yesterday's post I did on the cottage-style furniture of Russell & Mackenna. The part where I expressed a deep desire. Curious? Read on dear readers, read on…

Now if you've been following me for a while, you know I want to live in a beach hut. When I saw a photo on the Russell-Mackenna website, it made me wonder if I could become a 24/7 lifeguard and just live in one of their stations? Of course, I knew I'd want a hunky lifeguard to go with it. (And no, I'm not talking David Hasselhoff here.)

A quick search on Flickr led to this…

I love this red & white one on Miami Beach

and a hunky surfer dude to walk the beach with would be nice…

very nice

Now wasn't that more fun than a bunch of dead trees? If you think that was fun you should surf on over to Susan's @ A Southern Daydreamer for links to more Outdoor Wednesday posts. Have a great week and I hope to see you on the beach soon!

Oh Shellbelle sweetie...
If you get those kind of accomodations, could you make that hut for two? I am moving in too.

Love that lifeguard station, how devine is that. Especially the little watch tower up top. Yep, I could live that life for sure.

Country hugs sweetie...Sherry

those photos are so sad! any chance your plumeria will survive?

I don't know about living in a lifeguard station, but I'll take that surfer dude any day! ;o)

Oh, that is so sad. I'm really glad I'm not there to see it. We get used to dead and brown around here this time of year.

I have always been fascinated by lifeguard stands...that one is pretty special.

Giveaway on my blog!

Be careful what you wish for. You may have to give mouth to mouth and not necessarily to the hunky lifeguard.

Don't worry, in few more weeks they will come back to life.

Me too. Devastated yard, but I had already pulled the huge Plumeria pot into the spa room- just like you warned me, thank goodness. Back to the drawing (planting) board, I guess. Love the look of your blog! All my best to you...

The flowers are painful to see!

We ate lunch on our deck today (in NC) and after seeing nothing but brown and grey during our trip to the midwest, today felt extra wonderful!

Alas, the temps are going to drop again tomorrow. If you find that hunky life guard, he'd be very handy to have around on cold days, too!

Oh, your poor, sad trees. Ours aren't going to die from freeze but they might just fall out of the ground because of all the rain and wind. Odd weather this year.

I love that lifeguard station! I've never seen a "stylish" one before. I think you should have it!

I'd have to see the inside of that lifeguard hut! I live in Panama City, but on the town side.

It's so sad to see the damage the weather has caused this year. I loved your beach hut and your surfer dude isn't bad either :-). Have a great Outdoor Wednesday.

Oh heck yes! Let me know when you pick one up (the stand, silly) and I'll be right over! Wouldn't that be too much fun? So sorry about your plants, will they come back? I hope so, they were so pretty. Kathy

I'm really sorry about all your plants, I hope they come back. Of course all of my plants look like that right now.

Live in a lifeguard station? As long as the hunky lifeguard is there no problem. I'll be ready tomorrow.

The bad weather sure did a lot of damage!! Wounldn't it be fun to live in a lifeguard house!!

I love the beach and everything that goes with it! I love the waves lapping at my feet. I love the feel of the sand between my toes. I love the roar of the Pacific and the gentle waves of the Gulf of Mexico in Florida. Let's talk about beaches around the world, bonfires, building sandcastles, swaying palm trees, flamingos, clambakes, sunrises and sunsets. If it's tropical, it fits this blog!
