Well, here we are at last! Today is the final week of my seashell game/giveaway and I find it all very exciting. I love that you have played along and that you were interested in learning the names of some beautiful seashells.
I'm posting early today, because by friend Deb called and ask me to help her paint today. I'd much rather be doing something else, but this tells you that I consider Deb a very good friend. She's been renovating her parent's home is scheduled to move in just a few weeks. Walls have come down, hardwood floors have been rejuvenated and steps have been repaired. Now with a fresh coat of paint, she'll be all set.
Since I'll be painting all day, I'm not sure when I'll be home. Deb is moving an hour away, so I may be exhausted later. If I don't make it back in time to make the big announcement this evening, I will make it first thing in the morning, but I am hoping to do this tonight.
With that said, here is this week's mystery seashell. I used to find these on our beaches, but haven't added any new one's to my collection for many years. If you still find these, please let me know. For those who may be interested, when I'm cleaning and preparing my shells I finish them with either mineral oil (it will not go rancid) or I spray them with Clearcote Hi-Shine Glaze by Plaid. This glaze is meant for ceramics and as such it does not yellow. The shell in this picture was sprayed at least ten years ago and you can see it still looks perfect. Spraying them allows their colors to show as pretty as when they are wet.
Do you know what seashell this is?

The sand in this picture is from my local beach, isn't it pretty? This sand has a very pretty sparkle to it and is not gritty, I call this fluffy sand because of the way it feels.

And The Winner Is

Thanks to all those who have played along and those who have just dropped by to learn the names of a few shells. There will be more giveaways in the future, so stay tuned.
Pam, please visit my Zazzle Store and chose which mousepad you'd like. Look in the sidebar on the right and under product types, click on mousepads and it will take you to all the ones I have created. Then just send me an email (there's a link in my sidebar here or in my store) and let me know where you would like it shipped to. Thank you again for playing and congratulations!

Oh Shellbelle you know I am not good at this game, but it is a beautiful one.
Yesterday, we drove by a pool and I started thinking about those wool suits again. I still can't wrap my head around the idea. It just doesn't really help with floating on...
I'd have to say that's a hawk wing conch.
I have no idea shellbelle, but it is so pretty!!
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend
xoxo

Once again I am seashell clueless which is amazing since I spend so much time down on the beach. I think I should buy a shell book and place it on my coffee table so my guests think that I know about shells:) Have fun painting today as that is nice of you to help out a friend for her parents home.

THANK YOU, RHONDA!! What a wonderfully cheerful way to offer your congratulations. It is a great honor to me to be the very first winner of Shellbelle's Tiki Hut Seashell Competition. I think I'll go make myself a Mai Tai to celebrate!
It's a beautiful shell--of course I have no idea of what kind it is! Thanks for stopping by my blog and the nice comments. I have a blue glass "shell jar" in my guest bedroom and I should take pictures of the shells inside and have you identify them for me!
I look forward to seeing more of your blog--looks like you have a lot of fun things going on.
Aloha,
Deb
Congrats to the winner and loving that sea shell, I miss the sea right now!
Yay for Pam!!
