Outdoor Wednesday — Looking For Breakfast

Earlier this year, A Southern Daydreamer's Blog introduced Outdoor Wednesdays. Each Wednesday participants post pictures of anything outside their homes on their blog. This sounded fun and since I love the outdoors and I love photography, I've decided to join the fun.

The closest beach to my house is Indian Shores in Florida, about two miles from my front porch. I love to get there early and watch the birds as the day begins. This Great Blue Heron is usually there and allows me to share his space as he searches the shore for breakfast.

Wander over to A Southern Daydreamer for links to other Outdoor Wednesday posts!

what a wonderful picture of a Great Blue. One used to live behind our house when we lived along a river; I do miss the water birds! but I don't miss the flooding!

Lovely post -- thanks for sharing!

Great shot. This is my first time peaking at your blog and it sure is fun. I love your Mom's pink hat in the photo and the camping photos. You sure had lots of camping fun. I love the beach and posted about it last week. I am clueless about the shells but they sure look pretty. Shells are kinds blah on Hilton Head island but I take one for every beach visit for the year. Put them in a big jar and then at the end of the year I count them to see how many beach visits I made. I am going to look at those flamingo Keds that are calling my name:)

Beautiful heron! I live in Florida, too, and love it! Don't we have the most amazing birds???

Glad you joined us today. Happy Outdoor Wednesday!

What a beautiful shot! Thanks so much for stopping by, it led me to your blog! I LOVE it. I'm a beach freak myself, even though I'm landlocked in Central Texas. This is the first year (in 11) that we aren't going to go the Florida. We vacation on St. George Island every year, but this year we just have too many other commitments. We are going to sneak down to our coast for a few days, just can't keep us away from the gulf totally! I read back through your posts and really enjoyed them. I'll be back. Kathy

Hi Rhonda, I'm not exactly sure how I got here but I wanted to say hello since we're practically "neighbors." I'm in St. Petersburg. When I go out to the beach, I usually go to Treasure Island. I am only a couple years younger than you, I was born in Georgia too, and I started my blog the same day you started yours! If you look at my May 11 post, you'll see a photo of my daughter on her horse at Ft. DeSoto with the Skyway Bridge in the background. :)

Hello Rhonda, your blog is beautiful and you photograph for outdoor Wednesday is just stunning, Indian shores looks like a very pretty place. Kathy.

I love the beach and everything that goes with it! I love the waves lapping at my feet. I love the feel of the sand between my toes. I love the roar of the Pacific and the gentle waves of the Gulf of Mexico in Florida. Let's talk about beaches around the world, bonfires, building sandcastles, swaying palm trees, flamingos, clambakes, sunrises and sunsets. If it's tropical, it fits this blog!
